Use These 3 Hacks Before Submitting Your Resume.

By Jessica Hernandez

Great Resumes Fast

Hack #1: High-Priority Keywords.

Under your target job title, list the top three relevant hard skills for the role. For example, if you're applying for a Data Analyst position, include keywords like "data visualization," "statistical analysis," and "Python programming." This allows hiring managers to identify your qualifications quickly and increases your chances of being considered for the job.

Hack #2: Common and Proper Nouns

Use specific terms and proper nouns to strengthen your candidacy. For instance, if you're in financial services, utilize terms like "equity," "portfolio," "investment," "capital," "analyst," "finance," "market," "stock," or "interests." Add client names and avoid vague terms like "plan," "department," "assistant," "event," "organize," or "volunteer."

Hack #3: Avoid Helping Language

Embrace and own your successes by replacing collaborative language with power verbs and specific skills. For example, instead of saying you "assisted with budget management," state that you "managed a $1M budget and reduced expenses by 15%." This demonstrates your value and accomplishments more effectively.

Hack #4: Ditch Summarizing and Describing

Use bullet points, measurable numbers, and stronger verbs to showcase your achievements. For example, instead of writing, "Worked on increasing social media engagement," say "Boosted social media engagement by 25% through targeted content strategies." This change emphasizes your impact and accomplishments.

You'll create a resume reflecting your professional abilities and achievements by implementing these hacks.
